Calculation Fields

Calculation fields are based on formulas that calculate data input into an advanced form. Calculation fields can save time and increase the accuracy of simple or complex operations.

Mathematical Operators

Create calculation fields using mathematical operators and advanced form field labels. Each advanced form field is labeled so that you can identify it in a formula.

Calculation fields use the following mathematical operators:

Addition (+)

Subtraction (-)

Multiplication (*)

Division (/)

Sum (=)

Minimum (MIN)

Maximum (MAX)

Average (AVG)

Count (CNT) - Count of subforms

For example, if you wanted to add the value of three (3) fields, enter the three fields to be added preceded by the sum operator, and separated by the addition operator. A similar equation would display in your calculation field, as shown below:

= A5 + A6 + A7

You can create various formula types that calculate any numerical data input into an advanced form. See Working with Calculation Fields for more information on creating calculation fields.
