Adding Geofence Alerts

1.     Click on the Alerts menu option, and choose Geofence.

2.     Click Add. Or to edit, click the item's edit icon from the grid, or double-click the item.

3.     Choose Enable if you would like the alert to be effective immediately.

4.     Create a name for the alert in the Alert Name field.

5.     Enter a description for the alert in the Description field.

6.     Choose the kind of alert in the Type field. You can choose from:

·         Keep In (boundary criteria) - user cannot leave the landmarked area

·         Keep Out (boundary criteria) - user cannot enter the landmarked area

·         Time of Arrival (time criteria) - user must arrive in the landmarked area by the time specified

·         Time of Departure (time criteria) - user must leave the landmarked area by the time specified

For example, if you want to require non-exempt workers to leave the office at a certain time, but arrival time is unimportant, choose the Time of Departure criteria. Conversely, if the arrival time is important, but the departure time is not, choose Time of Arrival.

7.     If you want to track only your users, choose the My Tracking Users checkbox.

8.     Or, click the drop-down arrow for the User or Groups field(s) to select users or groups to monitor. You can also type user names directly into the field. Delete individual users by clicking the X at the end of a user's or group's name, or the X at the end of the field to delete all users/groups. Currently inactive users that you select will display with a circular red indicator.

9.     Select from Landmark, City, State, Zip/Postal Code or County. If you choose Landmark, select a previously-created landmark from the drop-down list below.

10.  Enter the information in the City, State, Zip/Postal or County fields as necessary, then choose Verify.

The application will attempt to geocode the location, and will indicate success by a color icon. See Grid Icons for more information on geocode indicators. If there are multiple possible locations for the data you entered, you must choose one to continue.

If the location cannot be geocoded, you cannot save the alert information.

11.  Choose a frequency for the alert - Once, or Recurring.

12.  Set the Start Time and End Time for the alert, and choose the days on which the alert will be enabled.

For example, if you want to specify that all non-exempt workers work from 9 am to 3 pm on weekends, choose Keep In as the alert type, choose the job site landmark in the Landmark field, and check in the Saturday and Sunday boxes.

13.  To send alert notifications to individuals, enter the email addresses, separated by commas, in the Send notification to these emails field.

14.  Click Save.

15.  Or, click on Export at the top of the screen to export the grid data to a csv file. You will be prompted to open the file, save it, or cancel. The grid report data will be sorted in numerical order by user.
